Isaac appears to be the Whitney Van Wicklen who married Mamie Bedell (b. 26 Aug
1869) in 1899 and
who lives next door to Richard in the 1910 US Census. According to papers
received from Richard^10 Van Wicklen, Whitney married 2nd to Jessie R. Ried on 4
Oct 1928 and had no children by either marriage; Richard^8 Van Wicklen (b.
16 Oct 1877) (1880
Census). In the 1920 US Census, Richard, age 41 (b. abt 1879, NY) resides in
Freeport Village, Nassau, NY;
Nellie^8 Lurene Van Wicklen (b. 1 Mar 1882 and d.
20 March 1885 at age 3 years and 20 days) (buried near them);
Alvin^8 Forbell Van Wicklen, b. May 1888, E.

Also in this household are David, 28, son, and David's wife, Ida, 30, and David's sister, Ida M. In addition, Charity Finley, 18, servant, and Martin Thursby, 20, boarder and barkeeper. All were b. Mr. Van Wicklen is the son of Captain Richard Van Wicklen of the Long Beach Life Saving Station. (Richard^7 Van Wicklen is listed above as Captain of this Long Beach Station, however, he does not have a son named Whitney. Perhaps, Richard^8 was also a Captain and Whitney is an unidentified son of Richard^8...or ...perhaps Whitney is a middle name that one of Richard^7s sons went by.) NY (NY, NY), Plumber, and wife, Mamie, 38 (M1-10), b. NY (NY, NY) From Brooklyn Eagle note above, W. Van Wicklen is obviously Whitney Van Wicklen who married Mamie Bedell, 19 July 1899. It would appear that "Whitney" might be the middle name of Isaac Van Wicklen, b. 1872. Brooklyn Eagle, Sat. Dec 15, 1917 article titled "Have Golden Wedding. Captain and Mrs. Van Wicklen get a Novel Cake." East Rockaway, L.I., December 15 -- Captain and Mrs. Richard Van Winklin [should be Wicklen] celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary last night at their home on Front street, East Rockaway. The Van Wicklins came from New Lots soon after their marriage in 1867 and settled in this village, where they raised a family of four boys. One of the features of the celebration was the "wedding cake" which was topped off with gold pieces presented to the celebrants by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were present.
